Intelligent Health AI summit

Eduard Barroso, CCO at LambdaLoopers, participated in the Intelligent Health AI summit. He had many interesting conversations, learnings, and insights from key #ai and #digitalhealth leaders.   

Back from Basel, he shared some insights and a key sentence: “as always, we, the humans, hold the key to building a better future for the healthcare system: communication, collaboration, training, and defining the proper goals are critical.” 

Here are some fundamental actions that he shared to start working on: 
✳️Incorporate digital and technological training for health workers. 
✳️Simplify the technical vocabulary and ensure it’s understandable for everyone in the health system. 
✳️Always guarantee that everyone is aligned with the primary goal, e.g., “let’s cure cancer,” and not secondary aspects.
✳️Most companies, corporations, and organizations see their data as a power means, thus keeping it for themselves and bringing data fragmentation. If we want to leap forward, we must find ways to collaborate to achieve and share the data for a common goal. More alliances must be formed. 
✳️Incentivize patients to share their data and build more patient-centric systems: AI needs high-quality data to be meaningful. 
✳️Most of the data gathered from the healthcare systems are transactional and not ready to be used by AI algorithms. The IT and innovation departments must ensure that the data has the appropriate quality.

There is still much work to do, and we can create a brighter future for all with the right actions.
